United target dismisses new contract talk

Reece Oxford is one of the Premier League’s more enigmatic young players.

The West Ham starlet has always attracted plenty of attention, largely because of his age, even though he has only ever actually made seven appearances for the senior side.

It’s always been thought that the 17-year-old was a player way beyond his years, though, and that’s why the likes of Manchester United are already interested in him.

United have been monitoring his situation at the London Stadium, as he is yet to sign a new deal. In recent days, it was being reported that he would commit his future to the East Londoners, dashing United’s hopes, but that was before he sent this cryptic tweet:

According to the Daily Mail, Oxford was referring directly to rumours of a new West Ham deal, which he clearly has little intention of signing.

Arsenal and Manchester City are also keen on the teenager, but United are favourites to land him if he does move on from his struggling current club.
