Mario Balotelli knows what it’s like to be outcast by Jurgen Klopp.
The striker enjoyed a miserable spell at Liverpool, scoring just one goal against Tottenham after trying to resurrect his Premier League career.
Anyone who’s been keeping up with his exploits at Nice will know he’s turned it right round, helping the French outfit to the top of Ligue 1 with seven goals in all competitions.
The Italian clearly has difficult memories of his time at Anfield, which perhaps explains why he is so sympathetic to another pariah at the club.
Mamadou Sakho finally looks set to leave Merseyside after a six-month period which has included an overturned drugs ban and being sent home from a pre-season tour.
Sakho has made no secret of his falling-out with Klopp, and the France international could seek a return to his homeland in January.
And Balotelli has reportedly told the centre-back to join him at Nice because he’s wasting his talent sitting in the reserves at Liverpool.
That report comes from well-respected French football writer Matt Spiro, who tweeted on behalf of Telefoot:
Balotelli tells Sakho to come to Nice: 'I've talked to him. What a waste! He should leave Liverpool. He should come here' (Telefoot) #LFC

Nice could slowly be developing into a centre for Liverpool rejects, but it’s not doing them any harm at present with Balotelli on fire.
