Mamadou Sakho in demand at Premier League club despite Liverpool standoff

Mamadou Sakho is edging closer to leaving Liverpool, and it looks as if he could be staying in the Premier League after all.

The France international’s decision to hit out at Jurgen Klopp on Snapchat earlier this season was probably the final straw, but that hasn’t deterred other clubs from being interested.

According to the Liverpool Echo, West Brom boss Tony Pulis likes the centre-back as a player.

Sakho’s a lucky boy if the Baggies are willing to offer him an escape from Anfield, particularly after he rejected a loan move to the Hawthorns in the summer.

The defender also refused to join Stoke and Besiktas, but he has at least been working on his fitness by training with Liverpool’s under-23s.

Joel Matip, Dejan Lovren, Lucas Leiva and Ragnar Klavan have all been playing in his position this season, and Klopp has made it clear he has no time for Sakho’s lack of discipline.

Ladbrokes previously had Sakho at 16/1 to join Southampton in the summer, but as time progresses, his options are narrowing more and more.
