Kurt Zouma could be on the verge of returning for Chelsea having overcome his horrific injury.
The France international featured for the Blues’ development squad on Monday night against Derby, and while that doesn’t necessarily mean he’ll feature for the first team all that soon, Antonio Conte will no doubt be delighted with his progress.
After all, the Italian hasn’t yet seen the defender play since he took the reins from Guus Hiddink in the summer, but regardless, he needs options at the back.
Zouma did give away a penalty, as he looked to be seriously lacking in match fitness, but that’s to be expected after such a long time out.
The Mirror have it that he could even feature in Chelsea’s home game against Everton in just under a fortnight, but it seems unlikely he’d play anything more than a few minutes.
Conte is still set to bring in defensive reinforcements in January, but his squad will be looking a whole lot healthier once he has Zouma back.
