Jose Mourinho has the chance to win his first trophy with Manchester United on Sunday when they head to Wembley to face Southampton.
Only the Saints stand in the Portuguese’s way of making his first mark in the Old Trafford museum, but Claude Puel’s side will no doubt be well up for the occasion.
Manolo Gabbiadini should be the key man for Southampton. The January signing is at 2/1 to score any time in 90 minutes, while Shane Long is also well placed at 5/2.
Gabbiadini looks the better of the two, having scored three times already in the Premier League, with Long having the same tally but across the whole season.
As for United, Zlatan Ibrahimovic is at 15/8 to score and win, but they have so many attacking options to choose from.
Juan Mata to score and United to win in 90 minutes is at 11/2 with SkyBet, and it’s likely that the playmaker will feature now that Henrikh Mkhitaryan is out and Wayne Rooney is still struggling with an injury.
United actually have a pretty mixed record against Southampton. When the two sides met earlier in the season, the Red Devils won 2-0, but they succumbed to a 1-0 defeat against what was then Ronald Koeman’s side last year at Old Trafford.
In fact, of their last seven encounters, United have won three, lost two, and drawn two, so backing Southampton at 19/5 wouldn’t be the worst idea – after all, anything can happen in a cup final.
