Chelsea are already threatening to run away with the Premier League table after it was confirmed they’ll be top at Christmas. Whenever that’s happened before, they’ve still been at the summit in May.
However, as Manchester City have already proven this season, being the favourites and going on a good run doesn’t necessarily mean much.
This weekend, it’s struggling Crystal Palace who are tasked with stopping Antonio Conte’s men, but they already seem resigned to Alan Pardew’s potentially imminent departure.
It’s unclear whether Eden Hazard will be back to face the Eagles, but nonetheless, here are five players to keep an eye out for in the latest round of fixtures.
Diego Costa – He’s at 28/1 to score first and Chelsea to win 2-0. The Spain international is the Premier League’s joint top scorer with 12 goals.
Christian Eriksen – Tottenham’s Great Dane is back in form, scoring another two in the 3-0 win against Hull on Wednesday. He’s at a pretty good 5/1 to open the scoring again.
Alexis Sanchez – It might seem a bit ambitious, but SkyBet have Sanchez scoring first and Arsenal winning 2-1 at an incredible 40/1. The Chilean had to do it all on his own against Everton, and it’s not inconceivable that the Gunners could score two at the Etihad given City’s awful defence.
