West Ham are believed to be considering other options as the pressure mounts on Slaven Bilic, reports the Telegraph.
The Croatian saw his side surrender a 2-1 lead to lose 3-2 to Tottenham in injury time on Saturday, a result which leaves them dangling above the relegation zone.
Just a few months ago, co-owners David Sullivan and David Gold were set to offer the manager a new contract, but strangely enough, they were waiting to see if he would prove to be a one-season wonder.
Eddie Howe, Rafa Benitez, Rudi Garcia, Roberto Mancini are all reportedly being considered as replacements.
Bilic would have to mount a remarkable run of form to save his job, with upcoming games against Arsenal, Manchester United, and Liverpool.
Unsurprisingly, he’s now among the favourites as the next Premier League manager to be given the boot. SkyBet are still offering that at 10/1, so it may be a good time to put money on before things get any worse.
What’s particularly frustrating for Bilic is that the situation has been largely out of his control. It’s not entirely clear who’s responsible for some of the club’s more questionable transfer business, Simone Zaza the greatest example of their flawed policy.
The London Stadium has not been a success either, and that has clearly affected the Hammers’ home form.
It looks as if Bilic will shoulder the blame, but as things stand, it’s going to be difficult to tempt any manager of any quality to take the helm.
