Frank Lampard may have already lined up his next move having left New York City on Monday.
The Chelsea legend has emerged as shock favourite for the vacant managerial role at MK Dons.
Ladbrokes have him down as the 11/10 favourite to replace Karl Robinson, who left after a poor start to the season left the Dons dangling dangerously above the relegation zone.
Whoever takes over will have a fight on their hands to keep the club in League One, the weekend’s draw with Walsall finally seeing them drop into the bottom four.
Yet, the former Chelsea and England star isn’t the only Premier League legend to be linked with the job. Ex-Manchester United coach Ryan Giggs is also thought to be a contender, though he seems reluctant to drop down the divisions and work his way up.
Lampard would be a popular choice for the Chelsea dugout in the years to come, so this could be the chance to build up his CV.
Steve Cotterill and former Spurs Head of Recruitment Paul Mitchell are the other likely names in the frame.
