EFL Cup – Wednesday

2 more EFL Cup games tonight...

Chelsea vs Everton

Everton begin life without Ronald Koeman against the champions and if anything, it's a wonder the Dutchman held onto his job for as long as he did. Given that the players no longer seemed to be playing for him, there's a chance they might finally raise their game against an under-strength Chelsea. Antonio Conte has no choice but to rotate as he's already struggling with the depth of his squad.
The Toffees are at 11/2 to win, which some may fancy as they ought to be taking this competition more seriously than the Blues with their league campaign already in tatters. For all Conte's complaints about his lack of options, though, he can still call upon second-choice Michy Batshuayi. The Belgian scored a brace at the weekend and is at 3/1 to score first here.

Tottenham vs West Ham

Given that neither Real Madrid nor Liverpool could stop Tottenham, Slaven Bilic won't be holding out much hope. Mauricio Pochettino is expected to field a weakened side in the Carabao Cup - which includes resting Harry Kane, who suffered cramp at Wembley on Sunday
That makes the first goalscorer market a little more interesting. Fernando Llorente is expected to make a rare start, with the former Swansea striker at 5/2 to get the game's opening goal. The danger for Spurs is that the Hammers will be well up for this one, and although the hosts are at 1/2 to win in 90 minutes, the east Londoners have won two of their last four meetings, a disproportionate amount given the gulf between the clubs.
