Sunday Premier League Preview

Two important games on this Sunday…

Sunderland vs Manchester City

City overcame a difficult start to thrash Huddersfield in their FA Cup replay, and that should have given Sergio Aguero plenty of his confidence back, with the Argentine scoring twice.

Unfortunately for the Black Cats, if they’re to have any hope of survival, time is running out for them to start picking up points. It goes without saying that this isn’t the ideal game for that.

A combination of Jermain Defoe and Aguero both scoring is at 7/2, and while City should win comfortably, they may not be able to keep the little hit man out given their defensive problems.

Tottenham vs Everton

Everton are at 17/4 despite their impressive recent form, probably because Spurs haven’t lost at home all season.

The Lilywhites should have Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen back, which makes a massive difference. Normally, it’d be worth backing Romelu Lukaku to score first at 11/2, but given that Spurs scored four in the first half last time out against Stoke, the Belgian may find it difficult to get past his compatriots and net the opening goal.

Spurs winning by two goals is at 7/2, and they should just be able to overpower Everton even if the Toffees are one of the form teams this calendar year. It could depend on the fitness of Harry Kane, though, as the hat-trick hero of last week – and incidentally, the week before that, too – is carrying a slight knock.
