Jurgen Klopp would be mad to leave the project he’s built at Liverpool.
Reds fans will not have enjoyed the weekend’s rumours linking him with Bayern Munich, but it’s fair to say they won’t be too worried given how much he seems to be enjoying himself at Anfield.
Klopp’s side are 3/1 to win the Premier League after their hard-fought 2-0 victory over Sunderland on Saturday, but the three points came at a heavy price.
Philippe Coutinho had to be stretchered off with a nasty-looking ankle injury, and the immediate fear will be that he has sustained ligament damage, though he’ll have to undergo a scan before it’s clear how long he’ll be out of action for.
The Mirror have it that the Brazilian could be out until the New Year, and that could cause serious problems.
Daniel Sturridge is also nursing a knock, while Roberto Firmino was given a kicking by the Black Cats, though the latter shouldn’t miss any games as a result.
Coutinho, however, could sit out Liverpool’s vital Christmas fixtures, including Manchester City on New Year’s Eve and the Merseyside derby on December 19.
It’s a time of year which could potentially have a huge bearing on what happens in May, and this is the last thing Klopp will have wished for as he prepares for nine games in little over a month.
