Yesterday, members were in the money again with 2 winners and a 2nd place from 3 bets.
Theatre Territory was backed as if unbeatable and duly obliged in stylish fashion. It was a nice introduction to jumping and the horse looks like a natural.
Volpone Jelois got the dreaded Betfair drift after getting upset in the preliminaries. He ran better than the market expected and stayed on late to finish second. He will prove to be better than the winner in the long term.
Mrs Bubridge stayed on well to win easily under the penalty and the mare will now get a very hefty rating rise from the handicapper. The favourite drifted alarmingly which was no surprise and the 5/1 was a great price.
A poor day of racing today, with modest meetings at Leicester and Hexham.
Members have one bet at each venue and today’s free tip is at Hexham, starting in a race where Champagne To Go is favourite in the fourth at Hexham at 1.45. We backed this mare when she was second recently, and the stable have added cheekpieces in an attempt to get here to concentrate better. I think she will win races but probably needs more experience. I expect Lastbutnotleast to win this race today and will be taking the 9/4 that is on offer now. This horse is reportedly spot on for her return today, and has won a point to point and a bumper on soft ground. The mare was also mid-division in a hot Grade 2 bumper at Aintree and is expected to improve for the introduction to hurdles.
1.45 Hexham (Race 4), Lastbutnotleast, 2.00 Points Win at 9/4 with Bet365 BOG+.
